Why did we develop Revisio?
Here at BN Digital, we provide design software design and development services to our clients. We create designs for hundreds of applications and platforms, deploy hundreds of prototypes, and create thousands of screens each year. And we had no plans to create a stand-alone product.
InVision was our main tool to work with our potential and existing customers. We shared samples, design cases, references, and our design progress via InVision. We collaborated with stakeholders and engineering teams via InVision. We classified, tagged, and stored our advancements and our history there.
Unfortunately, we were observing how InVision evolved into something that bare usable by us. InVision's strategy was to become the best prototyping tool and to compete with Sketch and Figma (that's how InVision Studio appeared), but we were looking for the best visual assets management tool.
Now, InVision will be ceasing operations by December 31st, 2024. We think this is the right time when we can close the gap that appears.
Why not Figma?
We love Figma and it is our main design, prototyping, and feedback collection tool. But we struggle with some intrinsic nuances.
Long loading time. When it comes to showing something to potential clients, the loading speed is paramount. Figma loads all layers, applies all effects and this takes time.
Memory Crashes. Not all client devices can meet Figma's browser memory demands. We hear our clients complaining about that, especially when they try to look at something on mobile devices.
Poor Projects Classification. Finding something in Figma might be challenging, especially when you have lots of projects and their versions.
Lack of Analytics. There is no way to understand how often has somebody opened the prototype or file. We lack this functionality that InVision had.
We strongly believe that those nuances would not be solved for a while, as Figma is not a marketing tool and there is no need for a product like Figma to build such features. Instead, we are willing to build Revisio as a companion to Figma with its best-in-class design tools, prototyping abilities, and commenting features.
